Learn Wood Physics - what it looks like and does when it gets wet, see what occurs as it dries and discover what causes cupping. Use various moisture meters to determine EMC, TSP, and how to determine when wood is ready to install. Learn how to do Calcium Chloride Tests, In-Si-Tutu tests, and what these tests mean. Learn how to figure shrink and swell calculations. See and touch planks with various problems, and how to determine what caused these problems. Learn how to inspect wood flooring, not just how to answer wood flooring questions.
The Stained & Polished Concrete class will cover a similar format, which includes hands on testing, problem solving, moisture testing, and slab corrections. When you have successfully completed these classes, you will be able to do inspections on your way home.
FITS Certified classes are open to spouses and they may attend free of charge. Your spouse may participate in the class the same as any other qualified student.
