The FITS Certified Carpet Inspection Workshop will cover fiber identification, man-made fibers, dyeing procedures and methods, tufted carpet, yarn gauge, length and height, manufacturing techniques, backings and cushions, new products. It will also include installation and tools, CRI-104 AND 105, tackless strip, and hands-on problem solving. The course details how to inspect carpet complaints, inspection tools and procedures, as well as report writing, marketing, and much more.
The instructor: Randall Green, recently retired from Mohawk will instruct this workshop. Randall has been in the carpet industry for 25 years. He has taught carpet inspections with Tim Smith at the original FCITS in the early years. He has been in claims and technical management associated with the claims department. He has taught at the Mohawk University and has instructed claims analysts and retailers for 20 years. Randall will be a speaker at this year’s NICFI convention.
