The FITS Certified Carpet Class will cover fiber identification, man-made fibers, dyeing procedures and methods, tufted carpet, yarn gauge, length and height, manufacturing techniques, backings and cushions. It will also include installation and tools, CRI-104 AND 105, tackless strip, and hands-on problem solving. The course details how to inspect carpet complaints, inspection tools and procedures, as well as report writing, marketing, and much more.
The hard surface class will cover a similar format including hands on testing and problem solving, which includes moisture testing and slab corrections. When you successfully complete these classes, you will be able to do inspections on your way home.
All FITS Certified classes are open to spouses and they may attend free of charge. Your spouse may participate in the class the same as any other qualified student.
